Local churches participating in National Back to Church Sunday

Back to Church SundayThis is the fourth year that The Shepherd’s Fellowship is participating in a national effort called “Back to Church Sunday.” It is a joint effort of over 27,000 church to reach out to people who have gotten out of church community.

While our church does not do a lot of program events like this one, we do tie into this outreach since we were founded on and focused on reaching people who have been hurt by Christians or church before,” explained Tom Hypes, pastor at The Shepherd’s Fellowship.

For the Fellowship’s event, they will be having three different gatherings (church services) including Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 6pm and Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 9am and 11am filled with teaching, contemporary worship with the band, kid’s ministry and more.

That said, this is not just an event for The Shepherd’s Fellowship as several local churches are participating on different levels including:

  • Cornerstone Alliance Church – 740-387-3565
  • Oakland UMC – 419-594-2708
  • The Gathering Place – 740-389-1749
  • And others… these churches can be viewed at backtochurch.com

Hypes said they will also be having a concert with national recording artist “Among the Thirsty”. They have two songs on national radio and will be doing an acoustic, coffee house style concert at The Shepherd’s Fellowship on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 7pm.
