Marion businesses report receiving counterfeit money

Officers from the Marion Police Department have responded to at least eight incidents of local businesses reporting counterfeit twenty dollar bills since September 12, 2015. The Marion Police Department has contacted area businesses to warn them of these incidents and have also been in contact with the United States Secret Service.

The Marion Police Department, along with partners at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, are continuing to investigate these crimes and urge those in the business community to extra vigilant about accepting suspicious bills.
