Council on Aging offering free session on coping with holiday blues

At this time of year, most people feel the need to have everything perfect and festive. However, many times this just isn’t realistic. In fact, coping with loss during the holiday season can be exhausting. This time of year tends to bring out cherished memories and make you miss loved ones, situations or circumstances that much more.

The goal of a free seminar sponsored by the Marion County Council on Aging is to help you navigate through the holiday season, both physically and emotionally.

LISW Ronnie Henson will present a two part seminar on this difficult topic on November 10 and 17, 2015.  Marion Senior Center, located at 2375 Harding Highway East, will be hosting this event, which begins both days at 1:30 pm.

Henson will present information to participants to help cope with loneliness, depression, and anxiety at a time of year when we all feel it the most.

At the conclusion of the seminar, each participant will be given a small memento that can be used in 2016 to help meet and keep track of future goals and progress.

Contact the Marion County Council on Aging at 740-387-0401 for additional information and reservations.
