Officials with the MARMET Drug Task Force said officers executed a search warrant last week that resulted in one arrest and the seizure of drugs and cash. Those officials described the culmination of their investigations as a “major crack cocaine bust.”
On October 30, 2015 at 7:18 p.m., detectives with the Marion Metropolitan Drug Task Force (MARMET/METRICH), assisted by detectives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Marion Police Department and the Marion Police Department’s Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at 242 North State Street in the City of Marion in the course of a narcotics investigation.
Investigators said they seized approximately 413 grams of crack cocaine (with a street value of $41,300) and $5,596 in cash along with two 9mm handguns.
Arrested was Twyhon L. Butler, 31, of Marion, for Aggravated Drug Trafficking, a felony of the first degree.
“This investigation targeted a major crack cocaine trafficker in our county and we were happy to get him off our streets,” said Major Jay McDonald. “His arrest has made our community safer.”
