Movie-goers will have the chance to see four select films during the month of January at the historic Marion Palace Theatre.
The theatre will kick off movies in the New Year with the Golden Globe Award nominated film ‘The Martian’ starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Pena, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Kate Mara.
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and is left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. ‘The Martian’ is rated PG-13 for some strong language, injury images, and brief nudity. Run time 144 minutes.

Over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend the Palace will present the animated adventure, ‘The Good Dinosaur’ on January 15, 16, 17 with a special showing on Monday, January 18.
This family-friendly Pixar film asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? ‘The Good Dinosaur’ takes the audience on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs featuring an adventurous Apatosaurus named Arlo. Arlo makes an unlikely human friend, travels through a harsh and mysterious landscape, and learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of. Rated PG for peril, action and thematic elements. Running time 93 minutes.

Concessions are available including candy bars for $1 each and 20 oz. Pepsi products, popcorn and boxed theatre candy for $2 each.
