Area tornado sirens to be tested Saturday

On Saturday, April 9, 2016 at noon, Marion County’s tornado sirens will be tested for maintenance purposes. The Marion County Central Dispatch Center will activate the tornado sirens so that the city and county fire departments can verify if sirens are working properly.

Sirens that aren’t working properly will then be looked at by repair and programming personnel.

If there is severe weather occurring at the time of the test then the test will be delayed.
