United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) has awarded $4,500 in college scholarships to eight students through its corporate and state programs. UFCU scholarships are granted to outstanding high school seniors based on academic achievement, community involvement, extracurricular activities and an original essay discussing the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”
Pleasant High School senior Madison Wells was awarded a $500 Regional Scholarship. Her extracurricular activities include theatre, Mock Trial, Spanish mentor, and volunteering for Adopt-a-Road, Restoration Weekend and Soup Kitchen. Madison plans to attend Ashland University in the fall.
Eligibility for scholarships includes active membership at UFCU for at least six months, dedication to community service and acceptance into an accredited college, university or trade school for the upcoming fall term.

- Bryce Bryant – Regional Winner – E.C. Reed High School, Reno Nevada
- Alora Perry – Regional Winner – Alma High School, Alma, Arkansas
- Bailey Goetz – Regional Winner – Penn High School, Mishawaka, Indiana
