United Bank hosted the Annual Academic Awards Breakfast at the Marion Chamber of Commerce on May 10, 2016. Each year the breakfast is held to honor seniors from the county high schools. They are chosen by their administration according to their academic records, extracurricular activities, and their overall achievements.

Featured guest speaker, Kristi Wink, former Miss Ohio and currently the Activities Director at The Marion Senior Center, is very involved with the music and performance arts in Marion, from the schools to the Palace Theatre stage. Kristi talked about the importance of hometown roots and what Marion has to offer our up-and-coming young leaders of today. She also provided encouragement to them to get involved and give back to the community that raised them.
