On June 7, 2016, shortly after 5:00pm, the MARMET-METRICH Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 7632 Irvin Shoots Road West located in Grand Township. The search warrant was a result of a drug investigation conducted by the MARMET-METRICH Drug Task Force.
Investigators said they located items used to manufacture methamphetamine which was being cooked when detectives arrived on scene.
Foy O. Potts, 41 years old of 7632 Irvin Shoots Road, was arrested for Illegal Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a second degree felony, as well as Tampering with Evidence, a third degree felony.
Also arrested was Elizabeth Ann Nelson, 34 years of age of 287 Breen Street in Marion, for Illegal Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a second degree felony.
Both Potts and Nelson were taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center. Two additional charges of Endangering Children a third degree felony are expected for both Potts and Nelson as a result of the investigation.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Police Department, Ohio Attorney General’s Office BCI&I, and Marion County Children Services also assisted on scene.
Sheriff Tim Bailey continues to urge residents to report drug activity to the MARMET-METRICH Drug Task Force as he and Police Chief Bill Collins both continue to give the drug task force resources to investigate these crimes occurring in our community to make Marion County a safe place.
