Marion Palace Theatre Executive Director Bev Ford announces auditions will be held for two upcoming Palace Productions. Auditions for both productions will be held in the May Pavilion at the Marion Palace Theatre.
Director Kristi Wink will hold auditions for children, ages 8 years and up, for the Palace Theatre’s stage musical, Disney’s TARZAN on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Auditioners may audition at either 1:00pm to 3:00pm or from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and should enter through the front pavilion doors.
All participants should come dressed in casual clothing and shoes appropriate for performing choreography. Those interested in chorus only will be asked to dance and sing with a group. Individuals wishing to audition for principle roles are asked to come prepared to sing a one-minute audition tune and read from the script. A pianist will be provided. No CDs please.
A family-friendly rehearsal schedule is set for the junior musical cast to meet Monday through Thursday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm beginning late August. Performance dates for TARZAN are October 7, 8 and 9 on the Marion Palace Theatre main stage.
Auditions will take place on Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for the Palace Theatre’s production of Agatha Christie’s THE MOUSETRAP. Men and women ages 18 years and older are sought to fill 8 roles and may audition either day.
Director Danielle Knight asks all auditioners to come with a prepared 30-60 second monologue. Script readings will also be part of the audition process. An overview of each character can be found online at www.marionpalace.org.
Performance dates for THE MOUSETRAP are November 4, 5 and 6 at the Marion Palace May Pavilion.
