The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) said Monday that the State Route 4/State Route 423 bridge, better known as the State Street overpass, in downtown Marion is expected to remain closed another two weeks for repairs.
ODOT initially thought the repairs would take two weeks, however they said there is more work than expected. The project team is working with the railroad in hopes of completing those repairs by August 26, 2016, weather permitting.
The repairs to the 51-year-old bridge include strengthening the supports that hold the deck with new concrete as well as patching concrete on the driving surface.
