BookMarks fundraiser to feature bestselling author Anne Perry

Anne PerryThe BookMarks, a Friends group of the Marion Public Library, will host a fundraising event on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., titled Speaking Volumes.  Internationally bestselling author Anne Perry will be the featured guest, delivering a talk and signing copies of her books for attendees.

Organizers say this after-hours event at Marion Public Library promises to be an entertaining evening. There will be a limited number of exclusive tickets available giving unprecedented access to mingle with the author before the event.

Anne Perry is the New York Times bestselling author of two acclaimed mystery series set in Victorian England, the William Monk novels and the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt novels, and a series of five World War I novels. She has also written thirteen holiday novels as well as a stand-alone novel set in the Ottoman Empire, the bestseller The Sheen on the Silk. She currently lives in Los Angeles.

This will serve as the inaugural event of what will become an annual fundraiser at the Library. Tickets will go on sale October 1st, and will be available for purchase at the Library and online. BookMarks members will be able to purchase their tickets a week earlier, before they go on sale to the general public.

Ticket prices are as follows: $40 for a single event ticket; $75 for a single event ticket and entry to the social hour and author mingle at 6:00 p.m.; $125 for a couple to attend the event and social hour. The $75 and $125 tickets also include one copy of Ms. Perry’s newest title to be signed by the author.

All proceeds from this BookMarks fundraising event will go to support the ongoing needs of Marion Public Library.

Marion Public Library’s Executive Director, Gary Branson, is emphasizing the positive effects this will have for the community as a whole.

“This is something a little different for Marion, which makes it a unique opportunity to share the joy of reading with the community,” said Branson. “We are encouraged to hear people excited about the event and expect to make this a great annual fundraiser for the BookMarks.”
