Aqua Ohio names new Regional Engineer

Aqua Ohio (Aqua) has named Diane L. McConnell as the company’s new regional engineer. She comes to Aqua from Williams Northeast, where she served as a senior permitting specialist and senior engineer for operations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and Ohio. McConnell’s responsibilities at Aqua will include infrastructure planning and execution, staff oversight and control of all engineering functions in Ohio.

“I’m very enthusiastic about adding Diane to our senior team,” said Ed Kolodziej, president of Aqua Ohio. “Her experience shows she has what it takes to get projects done, on time and on budget, even when faced with challenges. I’m confident she will serve our customers well.”

McConnell stated, “Working with Aqua will give me the chance to apply the diverse knowledge that I’ve accumulated through years of consulting to improve our systems and service for customers statewide. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to plan, build and operate facilities under one organization.”

In addition to her time with Williams Northeast, McConnell worked at the engineering firms of Hatch Mott MacDonald and Chester Engineers. As a consultant, she oversaw water, wastewater and pipeline projects for clients including the U.S. Government, Allegheny County Sanitary Authority, Hudson Valley Healthcare System, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, and others. She attended Geneva College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, and is a licensed professional engineer.

The regional engineer position was vacated earlier this year with the promotion of Peter Kusky to director of operations. Kusky had served as regional engineer since 2013 and has been with Aqua since 2004.

Aqua Ohio is the Buckeye State’s largest investor-owned drinking water and wastewater utility and serves about 500,000 Ohioans in 17 counties. Visit AquaAmerica.com for more information, or follow Aqua on Facebook at facebook.com/MyAquaAmerica and on Twitter at @MyAquaAmerica.
