Marion County Auditor Joan Kasotis announced that 2017 dog licenses are now on sale. After January 31, 2017, licenses purchased will be subject to a late penalty of $16, effectively doubling the cost, per ORC Section 955.01, 05.
A dog license must be purchased for any dog three months of age or older.
One, three year and permanent licenses will be available for sale at the Auditor’s office located at the Marion County Building, 222 West Center Street in Marion, weekdays between 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M.
One year and kennel licenses may also be purchased at the Dog Warden’s office, 2252 Richland Road, Marion.
You can also purchase dog tags online at https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Marion. Please note a processing fee applies to credit card payments made online or at the Auditor’s office. Only cash or checks will be accepted at all other locations.
The registration fees for 2017 are as follows:
- One Year: $16.00
- Three Year: $48.00
- Permanent: $160.00
- Kennel License: $80.00

- New Bloomington Town Hall – Jan. 19, 2017, 3 – 6 P.M.
- Prospect Public Library – Jan. 23, 2017, 3 – 6 P.M.
- Waldo Fire House – Jan. 25, 2017, 4 – 6 P.M.
- Green Camp, The Berwick – Jan. 26, 2017, 5 – 8 P.M.
