LaRue man killed in weekend crash

Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday, January 22, 2017. The crash occurred on State Route 95 just east of LaRue in Montgomery Township at approximately 12:35am.

Investigators said a 1928 Ford Model A was operated by Thomas K. Young, 53, of LaRue, Ohio. Young was traveling westbound on State Route 95 east of LaRue. The vehicle was driven off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and traveled off the left side of the roadway before striking a tree and coming to final rest on the south side of the roadway.

The Patrol said Young was not wearing a safety belt as the vehicle was not equipped with one and he was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coroner Dr. Mark Comianos.

Scioto Valley Fire and EMS, Medcare EMS, First Advanced EMS, and Ed’s Towing assisted on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
