Elva Gilliam, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, April 24, 2010, at Riverside Methodist Hospital at the age of 89.
She was born June 10, 1920 in Pikeville, Kentucky. She was also married in Pikeville to James E. Gilliam on August 29, 1941.
Elva was a member of Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James E.; her son, Larry Dale (Brenda) Gilliam of Marion; 3 daughters, Ethel Marie Wheeler of New Bloomington, and Joyce Gale Gilliam and Jani Sue (John) Johnson both of Marion; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchild; 1 brother, Burley Lowe of Marion; 2 sisters, Thelma Aiken of Marion, and Janice (Ralph) Underwood of Danville, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the loving daughter of the late William Harvey and Maudie (Pauley) Lowe; and was also preceded in death by her son, Estill Lee Gilliam; and sister, Nelvia Hunt.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 28 at 10 AM at Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Wheeler, Jason Harrah, John Johnson, Logan Johnson, Don Ingles, Ron Allen, Ty Ryan Jackson, and Kolton Ingles.
