Elwood W. Augenstein Sr., 67, Pennsylvania and formerly of Marion area, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at his home.
He was a former employee of Delta Gulf Co. Local 158 of Harrisburg, PA, a lifetime member of the Labor's Union Local 457 of Marion, Ohio and a member of the VFW Post 255 of Duncannon, PA.
Surviving are three sons, Kelly (Vera) Augenstein of Palmyra, PA, Elwood Augenstein Jr. and fiancee, Karen of Duncannon, PA, and Jason Augenstein of Halifax, PA; two daughters, Kim (Robert) Horne of Wise, VA., and Heather (Frank) Grubic of Hummelstown, PA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Bruce (Debbie) Augenstein and Brian Augenstein; sisters, Martha (Leroy) Wright, Karen Linder, Virginia Helton, Mary (Tom Terry) Bowens and Vicki (Ron) Davidson; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Harry and Virginia Augenstein; brothers, Harry Jr. and Grover Augenstein; and a sister, Joann Clark.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. 1621 Norton Road SW Wise, VA 24293.
A graveside burial service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Charlene Baughman officiating in Pleasant Cemetery just south of Marion, Ohio. Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors are in care of the graveside burial.
