James A. Thomas, age 72, of Prospect, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his residence.
He was born April 7, 1938 in Marion, Ohio to the late James Arthur and Pauline (Riley) Thomas.
On April 21, 1960 he married Cora (Waugh) Thomas, she survives in Prospect.
James was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII, he was retired from Textron in Lima, Ohio in the tooling maintainence department. James was a member of Kensington Nazarene Church, enjoyed watching Ohio State football and basketball, volunteered at Muirfield during the Memorial Tournament, and love spending time with his shi shu, Angel.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Thomas of Prospect, OH., son, Stanley Allen Thomas of Prospect, OH., daughters, Deborah Lynn Alexander of Delaware, OH., Jill Ann (Larry) Fox of Prospect, OH., 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a brother, Rodney (Joyce) Thomas of Springfield, TN., a sister, Ruth (Sonny) Trulock of Munfordville, KY., brother in law, Ernie Lee Massie of Marion, OH., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Allen Thomas and a brother, Richard Thomas.
Funeral services for James will be Monday, May 3, 2010 6 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Takla officiating, Visitation will be held Monday, from 4 – 6 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
