Judy E. Beacom, age 67 of Mt. Gilead died Monday, April 26, 2010 at Grant Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 17, 1943 in Ashland to the late Adrian and Annabelle (Rennals) Lawrence. A devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and foster parent; she was a lifelong resident of Morrow County, specifically the Marengo area.
A member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, she enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and knitting. Home decorating was her favorite pastime, as she was known to redecorate the same room several times each year. Feisty and at times stubborn, she enjoyed nature and was happiest at home with her family. Unique best describes her as there was no other Mother or Grandmother like her.
Survived by children: Stephannie (Gary) Rhodes of Delaware, Kandy (Bruce) Levings of Mt. Gilead, Melissa (Darrell) VanDyke of Fredericktown, Aaron (Jessica) Beacom of Cardington, 16 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren, Sisters: Dolores (Joel) Shaffer of Schoolcraft, MI, and Sunny Stough of Barberton.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband: Hobart Beacom in 1999.
Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home (SR 229) in Marengo. Funeral services will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, 5560 SR 95 near Mt. Gilead with Pastor William C. Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Fargo Cemetery.
