Ruth M. Forbes age 93 of Marion, Ohio formerly of Illinois, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at her residence.
She was born January 4, 1917 in Childers, TX. to the late Otha Lee and Anna May (Turner) Voyles.
In 1934 she married Buddy Rue Dixon he preceded her in death on August 24, 1970. She then married Harold Forbes in 1983, he preceded her in death on April 9, 1996.
Ruth attended Victory Center Church of God in Marion, and was employed as a LPN at Fairfield Memmorial Hospital in Illinois for 35 years.
She is survived her grandchildren, Randy (Jennifer) Dixon of Marion, OH., Dr. Kathy Dixon (Dr. Mark Davis) of Marion, OH., Connie (Jeff) Russell of Circleville, OH., Keri Dixon of Powell, OH., Rhonda Dixon of Delaware, OH., great grandchildren, Chad Young, Carly Ginther, Grace Davis, Spencer Davis, Conner Russell, great great grandchild, Nehemiah Young, daughter in law, Sarah Dixon of Marion, OH., step children, Lynn (Margaret) Forbes of Brocton, IL., June (Jerry) Renfro of Homer, TX., several step grand and great grandchildren, half brothers, Billy (Helen) Voyles of Wink, TX., J.C. (Freda) Voyles of Davis, OK., half sisters, Jessie (John) Freeman of Odesa, TX., Corina (Gene) Pickens of Wilson, OK.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy R. Dixon, a daughter, Joyce A. Dixon, father, Otha Voyles, mother, Anna May Voyles, and her step mother, Elva M. (Powell) Voyles.
A private visitation for the family will be held at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, Marion, Ohio and a graveside service will be Saturday, May 1, 2010 11 AM at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, IL., with Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, IL. handling th services there.
