William “Bill” Lewis Murfield went home to meet his maker on Thursday, April 22, 2010. I am sure he is rejoicing with his parents and sisters in heaven tonight.
On November 29, 1951 he was born to the late Catherine “Kate” (Macklin) Murfield and George Murfield. He graduated from Buckeye Valley High School.
Bill was a devoted lifetime worker and friend. He served in the United States Army as military police. He worked for Sun Ray, White Sides, and Delo Screw in Delaware; and recently Corrugated Fiberglass in Carey where he just one day before got the best review the shop had ever had. He also bowled several years with Moose Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife Melody (Rice) Murfield of Marion; his son, Kristopher William Murfield of Delaware; 2 daughters, Holly Catherine Nicole Murfield of Delaware, and Carla Celeste Murfield still at home; 1 grandson, Tyler Wayne Wheeler; 2 brothers, Patrick (Tammy) Murfield of Lancaster, and James Murfield of Delaware; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, and one great-great nephew.
Bill was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary (Murfield) Walker of Delaware, and Elizabeth (Betty) Murfield of Delaware.
Calling hours will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 from 1-3 and 5-7 at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 27 at 10 AM at Dayspring Wesleyan Church with Pastors Dave Holdren, Paul Service, and Chuck Osborne III. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Condolences may be expressed at BOYDBORNFUNERALHOME.com.
