Frankie Lee Daily, age 78, of LaRue, passed away at home on May 13, 2010, after a brief illness.
On October 10, 1931, Frankie was born in Corydon, Indiana, the son of the late John I. and Goldie (Smith) Daily.
On August 6, 1955, he married the love of his life, Mary Frances (Bohnenstiehl), in the chapel at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
Frank was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring in 1972 with 24 years of service as a medical technician. He served during the end of the Berlin Air Lift in Germany and later on tours of Japan, Germany, Alaska, Turkey and numerous bases across the United States.
After retiring from the service, he worked at Marion Power Shovel in their medical department and Marion Correctional Institute. He retired from all of his jobs in 1998.
An active member of the community, Frank belonged to many organizations, including: V.F.W. #7201 Marion, Moose Lodge, Marion Council Royal & Select Masons #22, Shriners of North America, Marion Shrine Club, Scottish Rites, Vera Chapter #64 Eastern Star, Marion Lodge #70 F&AM, Caledonia Odd Fellows, Marion Knights Templar, Public Employees Retirees, New Vision Senior Center, and the Green Camp Lions Club.
With a love for the outdoors, Frank enjoyed camping with his Masonic friends and traveling all over the U.S. Also, making time to hunt with his sons in the winter was a major priority. Christmas was always a joy for him having all of his family in his home and watching the excitement of all opening gifts. Having all of his family around him meant so much to him.
Frank will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years, Mary; his daughters: Terry Tarvin of LaRue, Loretta (David) Kroupa of Houston, Texas, Victoria (John) Johnson of Green Camp; his sons: Richard (Barbara Jean) Daily of Larue, Michael (Cheryl) Daily of Green Camp, and John (Teresa) Daily of LaRue; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; his brothers: William (Cindy) Daily of Sellersburg, Indiana, John David (Cindy) Daily of Corydon, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends: Carl and Katherine Robinson, Abe and Lois Shuler, and Jean Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Marts.
