Gabrielle Alice McDonald age 4, passed away comfortably in her home surrounded by her loving family in the early morning on May 22, 2010, after a long battle with aggressive childhood brain cancer.
Gabby was born August 29, 2005 in Marion, Ohio. She was diagnosied on June 1, 2009 and transfered to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She underwent several rounds of radiation treatments and chemotherapy. She was so strong and tough through it all. What I would call " My Miracle Baby".
Chemotherapy showed not to be responding anymore at the end of March. Gabrielle returned home to be with her family. Gabby spent her last surviving months happy as any other child. Surrounded by so much Love and Nurturing Care.
She was very outgoing, loving, happy child. She loved to help Mommy cook everynight, she was my great little helper. "Gabrielle, I will miss your Lazanga". She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her grandmother, coloring with her cousins, and reading any Dr. Suess book with Mom and Dad. ( The Cat in the Hat being her favorite) She loved watching Spongebob movie's and playing ball with her dog sugar. Most of all Gabby enjoyed and loved spending time with her family.
Gabrielle is now resting peacefully in heaven with her grandfather, Richard L. McDonald Sr. whom she loved very very much. And her grandmother Alice L. Blanton, cousins, Heath Culwell and Brandon Marr.
She is survived by her parents, Nicole R. McDonald and Eugene H. Thompson, grandparents, Roberta K. McDonald and Jimmie L. Blanton, aunts, Alicia (Steve) Haily, Stacy French, Diedra McDonald, Jessica (Hilary) Blanton, Karen (Chris) Culwell, Stacie (Jessie) Blanton-Newland, and one uncle, Richard (Sarah) McDonald Jr.
Cousins include, Casidy, Eithan,Madilynn, Haily,Christopher, Nathan, April Culwell; Shelby, McKinzie, Haley Newland; Emma, Richard III, William, Norah McDonald and many other loving relatives.
Gabrielle was loved very much and she will be missed very very much by us all.
The Funeral Service for Gabby will be Friday, May 28, 2010 1 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation for Gabby will be held Friday, May 27, 2010 from 4 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
