George C. Deickert, Jr., age 75, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday June 5, 2010 at his residence.
He was born April 13, 1935 in Patterson, N.J. to the late George C. and Lucy (Somieski) Deickert, Sr.
On August 30, 1984 in Marion, Ohio George married Patsy L. (Massey). She survives in Marion.
George was a retired Production Supervisor for 35 years with the former Marion Power Shovel Co. and then he spent 10 years with the former Parker Hannifin Co. in Greencamp, Ohio.
He was an avid craftsman in both metal and wood products. George was also a U. S. Army Veteran.
Other survivers include two sons, George (Kim) Deickert and Michael Deickert both of Richwood, Ohio, and a daughter Michelle (Gary) Myers of Blue Creek, Ohio. Also surviving are two sisters Jean Baldwin of Gulf Breeze, Fl. and Peggy Kenney of Englewood, Fl. and eight grandchildren.
George was also preceded in death by a sister, Marion.
Funeral Services will be Thursday June 10, 2010 at The Boyd-Born Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Officiating the service will be Michael Conti. Burial will follow in The Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday June 9, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
