James R. Mason age 78 of Marion, Ohio passed away at home on March 31, 2011.
He was born May 10, 1932 in Marion, Ohio to the late Merle Mason and Lucille (Smith). He was preceded in death by his son, James R. Mason Jr., and a great granddaughter, Tiffany Scott.
James graduated from Marion Harding High School, he was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1956-1958. He retired from M.P.S. after 43 years as a machinist.
He was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed playing basketball and fishing. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family.
He is survived by his loving nad caring wife of forty-eight years, Gloria J. Mason of Marion, two sons, Gary W. (Loretta) Mason of Cardington, Jerry L. (Angela) Mason of Marion, two daughters, Debbie J. Mason of Marion, Cheryl A. (James) Prater of Marion, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services for James will be held Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1 PM at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens with Pastor Charlene Baughman officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12: 30 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
