Franklin D. Acord, 66, of Marion

Franklin D. Acord passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 in Marion at the age of 66. He was born November 11, 1944 in Bolt, West Virginia to the late John and Minnie (Dickens) Acord.

Franklin was a United States Army Veteran. He was a loving brother, and will be greatly missed.

Franklin is survived by son, Franklin Acord, Jr.; grandchildren, James Acord, and Bryan Acord; brothers, Jimmy Dickens of Nashville, TN; sisters, Juanita Cox of Magnetic Springs, OH, Betty Collins of Marion, Edna Allen of Fairdale, WV, and Shirley Allen of Fairdale, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, William Acord, Dewey Quarles, and Charles Quarles; and sisters, Myrtle Goff, and Helen Acord.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10 AM at Caledonia Cemetery. Reverend Boyce Ray Mullins will officiate the service. A Masonic Service will be held at the cemetery, and Military Honors will be performed by Marion Area Veterans Council.
