Gary David Snell Sr., 59, of Delaware, passed away at home on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by his friends and family and friends.
Gary was born on July 24, 1951 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio to the late Donald H. and Mary F.G.
He lived in Delaware the majority of his life. He attended schools in Delaware and served in the Navy. Gary earned his G.E.D. in 1988, with top honors.
Gary was a dad, a carpenter, worked at Ranco and at the Disciple Shop. He loved his family, friends, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds.
Gary is survived by a son Gary Snell Jr.; daughter Amy (Snell) Lawhead; 9 grandchildren; a brother Steve Snell of Delaware; sister Irene Pratt; brothers-in-law Howard Pratt of Columbus and David Penn of Galion; sister-in-law Barb Snell of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Donald Snell; and two sisters Anita (Snell) Penn and Rosemary Snell.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating at the Fulton Cemetery in Fulton, Ohio.
Snyder Funeral Homes of Mount Gilead are honored to serve the family of Mr. Snell.
