Vernon Lee Houseworth age 76 of Prospect passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Partners of Marion.
Born March 24, 1935 in Ashley, Ohio to the late Earl and Mary L. (Patterson) Houseworth.
Vernon owned and operated Prospect Auto Repair, former Union County Civil Defense volunteer, Battle Run Volunteer Fire Fighter Prospect Fire Dept for over 20 years, past Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #23 of Prospect, Avid OSU, Indians, and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed farming when he was young.
Vernon is survived by one son Alan (Tammy) Houseworth of Richwood, two daughters Susan (Dan) Rhodes of Prospect, Ashley (Jon) Lemons of Marion, four brothers, Jack A. Houseworth, Donald A. Houseworth, Richard (Jeannie) Houseworth of Marion, Eddie M. Houseworth of Texas, one sister Erline Houseworth of Marion, Seven Grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Vernon is preceded in death by two brothers Jerry M. Houseworth, and Paul Bostic.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till 12 noon Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Pastor Rahel Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Union Cemetery in Cardington, Ohio.
