Florence E. “Midge” Elliott, 90, passed away Friday May 6, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s parish and a 1939 graduate of St. Mary’s School.
Midge was very active in her church and was a long time volunteer at the Church School serving lunches. She worked many years at the Marion Country Club and was loved by all. She was a beautiful, giving, and independent woman and whose adventurous spirit was passed to all around her.
She is preceded in death by husband Paul James 1994, sons Donald Gene ’73 and Larry Allen 1961, daughter-in-law Paula Jo Elliott 2009 and nine brothers and sisters.
Midge is survived by children Lynda Jacques (Mario) of Atlanta, David of Caledonia, James (Rosemarie) of Columbus, Daniel, Jonathan and Mary (David) Lyons. Midge also is survived by grandchildren Christine (Greg) Logan of Florida, Michelle Conkle of Atlanta, Mark (Candy) Elliott of Marion, Christopher Elliott of California, Matthew Elliott of Columbus, Michael Elliott of Columbus, and Nicholas Elliott of Columbus and her brother Richard Jenner of Marion. She will also be missed by three great granddaughters and two great grandsons, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will recieve friends Monday, May 9, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with prayer services at 5:00 p.m. at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary Church with Father Michael Nimocks officiating, Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
