Ivor W. Dodds, 97, of Marion

Ivor W. Dodds age 97 of Marion passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at his residence.

Born in Marion October 3, 1913 to the late Grover Cleveland and Linnie A. (Miller) Dodds McWherter, and stepfather Carl McWherter.

Ivor was a graduate of Harding High School and retired as a clerk for Erie-Lakawana, Conrail Railroad after over 40 years.

He was a member of St Mary Church, Marion Senior Center, Palace Theater, N.R.A., Marion Fish and Game, and the oldest member CPAA Police Auxillary.

On October 6, 1937 he married Dorothy (Coffey) Dodds and she survives. Also surviving Ivor are two sons, P. Michael Dodds of California, Jeremy (Glenda) Dodds of Marion, one daughter Melissa (Phillip) Porter of  Md., one daughter in law Janis Dodds of Marion, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren. Preceding Ivor in death are one son Richard Dodds, three sisters Ruby Blake, Bernice Sycks, Frances Church, one brother Sheldon Dodds, and one grandchild.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. till 8;00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with parish prayers at 4:00 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at St Mary Church with Father Michael Nimocks officiating. Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
