John "Roger" Curry, age 66, of Prospect, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1944, to the late John Calvin Curry and Ivadell Curry Davids in Delaware, Ohio.
Roger was a 1962 graduate of Prospect High School and served in the Ohio National Guard.
He married Judy (Pearson) Curry on June 2, 1968, and she survives.
He was employed by the Quaker Oats Company as a supervisor in the shipping department from 1966 until the closing of the plant in 1990. He was also employed by Golden Valley as a supervisor for several years.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, watching the Ohio State basketball and football games and raising his Belgian horses.
His family was the light of his life.
Along with his wife, he is survived by son Brandy Curry (Julie) of Green Camp, Ohio, daughter Robbie Apt (Jamie) of Prospect, Ohio, three granddaughters, Samantha Curry, Katherine Apt, Elizabeth Apt and step-grandchildren Zoe Hesson and Zach Dendinger; a brother Eugene Curry (Vivian) of Radnor, a sister Patricia Borland of Bucyrus, many nieces and nephews as well as sister-in-laws Janet Fleming and Pam Huffman (Brian).
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 1 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Naradain James officiating and burial following at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
