Harry E. Landon, 75 of Marion passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital Saturday, June 18.
He was a devoted, caring and loving father who always placed his family first.
During the spring and summer months, his joy of vegetable gardening was proudly shared from his front porch, his favorite place to sit. The empty seat on the front porch is a reminder to all those that loved him.
Harry was born on January 31, 1936, to Mildred Landon Miller and Hosea Landon, both deceased. His wife Gloria preceded him in death in 2009.
He is survived by their children, Kathy (Ron) Chapman of Marysville, Deb (Tim) James, Jason Landon and Kristi (Jeff) Caldwell all of Marion. Harry was also blessed with 10 grandchildren; Ronnie (Kate) Chapman, Melissa (Alex) Rozanski, Amy (Dan) Blackford, Kyle James, Ashlee James, Jordan and Evan Landon, Isaak, Kalli and Jackson Caldwell. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren ; Madison and Seth Chapman, Makaylee and Landon Blackford, and Jack and Reagan Rozanski. Harry is survived by two siblings, Betty Osborn and Martha Morgan. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Brother-in-laws, Ivan, Bill (Annie) and Dallas (Shelby) Stithem along with sister-in-law Ilene Eckard also survive with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, June 21st at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A graveside service for Harry will take place on Wednesday June 22, 2011 at the Marion Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Ryan Chivington. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the service.
