Josephine U. Brundige, 98, of Marion

Josephine U. Brundige, age 98, of Marion and formerly of Waldo, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Kingston Residence of Marion.

She was born October 8, 1912 in Norton, Ohio to the late Beverly Charles and Elva (Sayne) Brundige and was raised on a farm in Waldo along with her brothers.

She attended high school and two years of college (at The Ohio State University) where she received an associate’s degree. She spent many years in her chosen profession as an accountant and tax collector.  She was proud in her later years to be allowed to work the front desk at the Kingston Residence.  Many times she would say she couldn’t talk now she had to go to work.

Her real passion was as a professional flautist and pianist and playing with major symphonies and orchestras.

Josephine was very independent and enjoyed as many activities as she possibly could.  Anytime the Palace has a performance, Josephine would most likely be there.  Any event hosted by Kingston she would attend and with her love of music, she enjoyed many musicals.  Her family and friends benefited from her talents as a seamstress and her culinary skills are legendary.

She is survived by nieces, Elva Jane Skivers (Lima), Beverly Brundige-Imbody (Marion), Roberta Lynn Mulendore (Kansas), Rita Josephine Mayden (Kansas), and a great nephew Michael (Brundige) Lyndsay.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother, Joseph, her brother Thomas Beverly, and a nephew, David.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Waldo Cemetery in Waldo, Ohio at 10:00 a.m. with Michael Fogle officiating.

The family is honored and appreciative for the help and support provided by the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home and Ronald Cramer, Atty.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Palace Cultural Arts Associations or the Waldo United Methodist Church.
