Margaret G. Turner, age 85, of Marion passed away early Wednesday evening at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Galia County on March 26, 1926 to Ivan and Marie (Phillips) Spires, she married John Turner on April 6, 1946 and he survives at home.
Margaret was a graduate of Harding High School and had attended the First Church of the Nazarine.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons; Rick and Terry and 3 sisters; Juanita Cornett, Virginia Albright and Dorothy Turner. Surviving with her husband is her daughter; Nadine (Ronald) Reeves of Florida, 3 sons; Don (Julie) Turner and John (Jean) Turner, both of Ashland and Mike (Linda) Turner of Polk, her brother; John (Evelyn) Spires of Marion, 2 sisters; Louise Brown of Findlay and Ina Edwards of Washington Court House, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held Monday at 1:00 PM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Brett Gleespen officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from Noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
