Mattie A. Thacker age 90 passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Heartland of Marion.
She was born July 21, 1920 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Marion O. and Rebecca (Boyce) Hutchinson.
On May 3, 1939 in Vinton County she married Chester Thacker, he preceded her in death September 8, 1977.
Mattie is survived by her six children, JoAnn (Fritz) Sharp of Marion, OH., Mary Jenner of Marion, OH., Norma (Eldon) Gullett of Marion, OH., Ralph Thacker of Marion, OH., June (Larry) Isaac of Salyersville, KY., James Thacker of Marion, OH., 24 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, a sister, Madeline McKnight of Marion, OH., her long time companion, Carl Akers of Marion, OH., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Thacker, a grandson, 4 sisters and one brother.
Funeral services for Mattie will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 10:30 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Albert Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
