Andrew Izzi age 91 of Marion passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
Born December 24, 1919 in Italy to the late Nicholas and Antonia (D'Alessandro) Izzi.
Andrew retired as a teacher at Elgin High School and then taught at MCI for a number of years. He was a member of St Mary Church, an avid golfer and member of Kings Mill Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Mary Louise (Spadafore) Izzi, three daughters, Regina Peacock of Columbus, Karen Izzi of Charleston S.C., Sharon Izzi of Powell, one brother John Izzi of Canton, one sister, Mary Izzi of Fairmont, W.Va., six grandchildren Tim J. (Coco) Peacock, Ami Peacock, Andy (Krista) Peacock, Eric (Kristen) Haubert, Darrin (Katie) Haubert, Sara (Rob) Terry, four great-grandchildren, Clayton, Seth, Henry, and Maribella.
One sister preceded Andrew in death Rose Izzi.
Family will receive friends Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with parish prayers to be held at 7:30 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at St. Mary Church, Marion, with Father Vincent McKiernan Paulist Priest from St Thomas More Newman Center Ohio State University Campus. Interment will be held in St Mary's Cemetery.
