Betty J. McKinstry, age 90 of Rural Caledonia passed away Sunday evening July 3rd, 2011 in Morrow County Hospital, Mt. Gilead.
She was born in Morrow County on November 24th, 1920 as the daughter of the late John & Edith (Hanks) Spiedel.
Betty was a graduate of Edison High School and had attended Bowling Green State University. She was a nurses aide for many years at Morrow County Hospital and Marion Manor Nursing Facility. She lived her entire life in Morrow County and was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church and a sixty year member of the Deborah Rebecca Lodge in Caledonia.
On November 28th, 1940 she married John W. McKinstry. He survives her at home.
Betty and John lived a simple, content life, always being more concerned about the welfare of the other than him or herself. At home they enjoyed watching Humming Birds at their feeders and the other wild animals roaming in their surroundings. They loved their Toy Manchesters. Betty was preceded in death by her brother Theodore and sisters Florence and Mildred.
A graveside service will be held in Caledonia Cemetery on Friday July 8th at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Matt Skelton officiating.
