Richard D. Rengert age 87 of Morral, Ohio, passed away Sunday July 17, 2011 at the Marion Manor Nursing Home.
He was born June 2, 1924 in Marion, Ohio to the late David H. and Inez D. (Roszman) Rengert.
In 1945 in Marion, Richard married Loraine Grover and she survives.
Richard was retired as a Quality Analyst with the Whirlpool Corp., where he spent 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was also a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a member of American Legion Post #584. He loved farming and carpentry.
Richard served our country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and was in the 82nd Airborne and the Battle Of The Bulge in The European Theater.
Besides his wife of 66 years of marriage, Richard is survived by two sons and two daughters; Tim (Cathy) Rengert of Largo, Fla., Tom (Kami) Rengert of Houston, Tx., Sue Rengert of Marion, Ohio and Teresa (Bill) Whalen of Treasure Island, Fla. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive as well as a daughter-in-law, Susan Schaeffer of Gainsville, Fla.
Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a son David Rengert.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 23, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be the Associate In Ministry from Emanuel Lutheran Church, Kevin Kehn. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
