George David “Dave” Washburn, 67, formerly of Marion

George David "Dave" Washburn, died on Tuesday July 26, 2011 in Albion, Arkansas where he resided. He was 67.

A native of Marion, Ohio, he was born on May 15,1944 to parents George Washburn and Miriam Knickle Washburn, also of Marion. (both deceased).

Husband to Jeanne M Granger of Marion, from 1966 to 1979. He is survived by sister and brother-in-law Ann and Jim Addis,his 5 children, Cari Ann Washburn, Aleece Washburn (Rian) Jester, Sondi Washburn (Matt) Digman, Lydia Washburn, Gavid David Washburn, and Grandsons Owen and William Jester.

David loved the outdoors, nature, and animals. He is a Marion Harding Alumni, and a Champion Drum Major for the Marion Cadets. A musician at heart, he could play the trumpet and the guitar, as well as sing. He was a member of several bands in his Community. He was employed by the State of Ohio Highway Department, as well as the Pangburn Public Schools in Arkansas in later years. He owned and operated Marion Steamboy Carpet Cleaning.

Dave's family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m., on Saturday, August 20th, 2011, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Little Kids Rock", at 632 Pompton Ave. Suite 2, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009, in Memory of David Washburn, which helps provide musical instruments to children.
