Katherine “Katie” Landes, age 92 of Caledonia passed away Friday evening August 26th in Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Vanceburg, KY on November 19th, 1917 as the daughter of Charles & Virginia (Butler) Sartin.
On March 25th, 1938 she married Robert C. Landes. He preceded her in death June 14th, 1979.
During her working years Katie worked at the Corner Inn in Caledonia, the Stratbury Overcoat Company in Galion and as a cook at Caledonia School for Twenty Five Years. She was a faithful member of the Caledonia Church Of Christ.
Katie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Donald & Sharon Landes of Marion, her daughter-in-law Jean Ann Landes, grandchildren Robert (Dawn) Bowers, Kevin Landes, Michelle Thompson and David (Jennifer) Landes. Great Grandchildren include Erica & Mike Chatfield, Sophia Thompson, Morgan Bowers, Brodi Litz, Jessica & Miranda Mann. She also leaves behind her sister Helen Hoffman of Caledonia and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Landes and her daughter Patty Bowers, Eight brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services for Katherine will be held on Wednesday, August 30th, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Kenneth Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday 10:00 until time of service.
