Otha Leon Warren age 88 of Marion, Ohio, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning August 8, 2011 following a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Otha Grant and Oakley (Higgins) Warren. Leon was born August 1, 1923 in Ironton, Ohio.
On August 1, 1981 he married Rosella Hawthorn Swartz who survives.
Leon was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in W.W.II. He was self employed in the concrete business for 62 years and was also in the rental business.
Leon is survived by one daughter, Kristin (Warren) Shenk of Australia and one son Erick (Michelle) Warren of Columbus, Ohio. One step-daughter Pamela Wolfe, two step-sons Steven (Debbie) Swartz and William Swartz, Marion, and a sister, Rosemary Couch of Shelby, Ohio.
Besides his parents leon was preceded in death by a step-son Jamie Swartz, sister Donna May and a brother. Leon also has eight step-grandchildren.
Leon loved his garden and gave most of it away. He also had a love for animals; All of his pet goats, rabbits and geese. People from the neighborhood always liked feeding his goats through the fence.
A Memorial Service for Leon will be held Friday August 12, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Russell Howard. Burial will take place at a later date in the Marion Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday August 12, 2011 two hours prior to the service from 5 to 7 P.M.
