Paul E. Hunt, age 78 of Delaware formerly of Obetz passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville following a brief illness.
He was born on October 4, 1932 in Circleville to the late Lee and Miriam (Sines) Hunt.
For over 48 years, Paul worked as a truck driver, logging thousands of miles over the open road. He was employed by Flickingers Trucking, which became Scrvinger Trucking Company. Paul won numerous trophies and certificates for his skills and truck rodeo competitions.
Kind, he was generous to a fault. He enjoyed gardening and annual family trips to Myrtle Beach and Florida. Always cheerful, he was happiest with family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years: Donna L. (Harrington), their years of happiness together were a tribute to their caring attitude towards one another and the motto: “Me for you, you for me, that’s the way it will always be”. Also surviving are daughters: T. DeAnn (Doug) Moore of Delaware, Vicky S. Miller of Columbus, 12 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, sisters: Margaret Rudisell of Pickerington, and Maize Hunt of Circleville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughters: Mary Lynn Dauer, Cynthia K. Villiers, son: Paul D. Hunt , granddaughter April King, great-granddaughter Erin King, brothers; Donald and Leonard Hunt, and sister Ruth Wolfe.
Friends may call Wednesday 11 – 1 and 5 – 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where services will follow Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Donnie Akers officiating. Private interment in Cheshire Cemetery on Thursday.
