Georgianna E. Woolum Stephens, age 88, of Marion, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday evening, September 4, 2011, at Heartland of Marion following an extended illness.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Joanne Redmon of Caledonia; her son, Jerry (Robin) Woolum of Marion; eight grandchildren: Kathy (John) Rutter, Donald (Teresa) Redmon, Rick (Sue) Redmon, Paul (Christine) Redmon, Derek Woolum, Zachary Woolum, Stephaine Woolum, and Nichole Woolum; a sister, Ruby Blair of Marion; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, Georgianna was preceded in death by her husbands: Calvin Woolum and Thomas Stephens; her son, Larry Woolum during the Vietnam War in 1969; her daughter, Hilda Woolum; son-in-law, Don Redmon; and by seven brothers and sisters.
eorgianna’s family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services honoring her life will also be held there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor J.C. Church officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
