Harold E. Gilbert of Marion passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Community Health Care Center. He was 66 years old.
He was born December 13, 1944 to Glen Oscar Gilbert and Elizabeth Carol (Inskeep) Young.
Harold attended a Freewill Baptist Church in Carey, Ohio. He loved fishing and playing Bingo. He was employed and retired as a taxi driver for the former Red Cab Safety Company in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Judy L. (Kimbler) Gilbert; his son, Harold E. Gilbert, Jr. of California; daughters Edith Louise Gilbert of California and Carol Ann Feldman of Mt. Gilead, OH; two sisters, Joyce Adamson of Marion and Janet Foos of Edison, OH; a brother, James E. Young of Marion; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by both his parents, his step-father, Edwin C. Young, and one brother, John A. Gilbert, Sr.
The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. David Lippert at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Friday September 23, 2011 at 12:00 noon with calling hours preceding from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Internment will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Pall bearers for the service will include Mike Gilbert, James Gilbert, Tim Adamson, Sam Gullett, Aubrey Wilhelm, and Brian Bradley.
