John Jr. Ward age 80 of Marion passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
John was born in Marysville, Ohio on April 3, 1931 to the late John F. and Mary Josephine (Shaw) Ward.
John had previously worked for Getman Brothers and the Marion Power Shovel. He loved to go to flea markets, watching wrestling and Ohio State Football, he played basketball when he was in high school. He also enjoyed working with his hands and making things. He attended Calvary Bible Baptist Church for many years.
John is survived by his wife Connie Sue (Fryman) Ward, and former wife Thelma (Weikle) Ward, two brothers Chet Ward and wife Carolyn now deceased, Bob Ward and wife Marilyn and there three children, two daughters April Ward and Evelyn Partlow, one son, Russell Ward and his wife Mary of Marion, step son and step-daughters, Shane of Marion and Tara Morris of Southern, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Jonus, Todd, Amber, Felicia, Crystal, Toni and Russell. several Step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one on the way.
John was a very sweet good hearted man and will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Rev. Floyd Radebaugh Officiating. Burial will follow in Clairbourne Cemetery in Richwood.
