Della M. Southward age 84 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Wednesday October 12, 2011 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born October 3, 1927 in Shock, W. Va., to the late Boyd and Ella (Ward) Norman.
On November 6, 1950 in Marion, Ohio she married William H. Southward who preceded her in death on November 4, 2010.
Della was a homemaker. She also was a graduate of Normantown High School and had attended Glenville State College for two years. She was also active in Neo Queens Womens Auxilliary of Neoacacia Lodge # 595 F&AM.
Della is survived by two sons and a step-daughter; William L. and James N. Southward, both of Marion and Cassie Ward of Idaho. One step-granddaughter, Mariah and two step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Neva Bill of Caledonia, Ohio, a brother, Stanley (Linda) Norman of Shock, W.Va. and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers; Orval, Hayman, Denver, and Pascal.
Funeral Services for Della will be Saturday October 15, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Richard Prater. Burial will be at a later date in W. Va. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.
