Glenna Marie (Perkins) Albright, age 84 of Marion, died Friday morning, October 14, 2011, at the Heartland of Marion following an eight year illness.
On May 30, 1927, Glenna was born in Jackson, Ohio, the daughter of the late Samuel and Effie (Gillam) Perkins.
Glenna married her loving husband of over 43 years, Harold G. Albright, on November 12, 1947. Together they moved to Marion in 1949, and lovingly raised five children. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1991.
Always hard at work for her family, Glenna was involved in the work force in Marion, Bucyrus, and Jackson. She was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #337 Ladies Auxiliary for 41 years, where she volunteered at Eagles Bingo for 32 years, and at Cadet Hall Bingo for 9 years. And when she wasn’t volunteering at a Bingo Hall, she was the first in line to play for herself.
A woman of faith, Glenna was formerly a member of the Fite Memorial Baptist Church.
With a love for the outdoors, Glenna and Harold would take their family camping as often as they could. They enjoyed the campgrounds at Mohican Lake, Hidden Lakes, and later Hickory Grove, where they enjoyed fishing too.
Well known for her orneriness and pep, Glenna was always on the go, giving people a hard time and telling you exactly what she thought every where she went. And you couldn’t help but to love her.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Harold Wayne (Marie) Albright of Bucyrus, and Robert William (Julie) Albright; two daughters: Brenda Lee (Richard) Spicer, and Tina Marie (Brian) King; son-in-law, Lonnie Wise Sr., all four of Marion; thirteen beloved grandchildren: Michael Albright of Bucyrus, Tracy Albright of Bellevue, Jennifer Plummer of Indianapolis, IN, SGT Glen Sauers, stationed in Afghanistan, Christine (Richard) Chevalier, Michael Wise, Jennifer (John) Brandyberry, Kellie (Robert) Adkins, Lonnie (Brooke) Wise Jr., Shandi (Lucas) Dickinson, Kegan King, Kevin (Amanda) Stults, and Penni Almendinger, all of Marion; 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchild.
Including her husband and parents, Glenna was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Sue (Albright) Wise; five siblings: Olan, Edward, Orville, and Francis Perkins, and Dorothy (Perkins) Lutton; and a great grandson, Lewis Earl Grange Brandyberry.
The Albright family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.
