Michael Dennis Robbins age 63 of Centerville Tn., was born in Marion, Ohio.
He attended St. Mary's School thru the eighth grade. He then attended and graduated from River Valley High School. He was one of the original members of the Marion Ohio Drum and Bugle Corp.
At 18, he joined the Army Air Force and served for three years. While in the Air Force, he trained for a career in radio. He worked for a while in Columbus, Ohio at both WBBY and WMNI.
He left Ohio to work in Nashville Tn. He worked at several stations in Nashville then settled at station W.A.M.B. where he worked for many years.
Poor health resulted from a near fatal bike accident whitch resulted in his death after being in a health care center for three years in Tennesse.
Michael loved his job. His job was his life. He met and interviewed many Nashville Stars. His favorite interview was with Wolf Blitzer shortly after the September 11 tragedy. Mike's voice was well known to the early members of the Marion Area Writers. He put their poetry on cassettes reciting them over a musical background.
Michael was divorced and had no children. His father John Robbins and step-mother Patty Robbins are deceased. He was the beloved son of Betty Cocherl and step-father Lawrence Cocherl, brother to Spencer Cocherl, Larry Cocherl, Tom Robbins, Jim Robbins and two sisters, Nancy Louks and Frances Goodwin and many beloved cousins and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service for Michael on Saturday October 8, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mark Schuring. Friends may call one hour prior from 2 to 3 P.M.
