Samuel V. Hartley, age 72 of Richwood died early Wednesday morning October 12, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family.
He was born July 6, 1939 in Marion to the late Charles and Ella (Priddy) Hartley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Samuel Hartley, two brothers and three sisters.
On December 6, 2002 he married the former Marsha Eastman after being together for 20 years.
He was retired from the Whirlpool Corp where he had worked for 10 years. Prior to that, he worked at Tecumseh for over 22 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Marion 337; and the Marion Moose Lodge 889. Sam was an avid fisherman and bowler. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Ronald Hartley, Marion; daughters, Pamela (Shawn) Anthony, Marion; Danuall (Doug) Schoen, LaRue; Gini Thomas, Marysville; Cassie Brill, Richwood; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dean Hartley, Delaware.
Funeral services will be Monday October 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Jim Gardner officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday at the Funeral Home in Richwood. Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery.
