Donna Maxine Persinger, 75, of LaRue

Donna Maxine PersingerDonna Maxine Persinger, age 75, of LaRue, Ohio, died Sunday November 18, 2012 at 10:25 AM at Marion General Hospital.

She was born November 28, 1936 in LaRue to the late Sterling C. and Alice Lucille (Hoffman) Wittibslager.

On January 19, 1957 she married William J. Persinger and he survives.

Also surviving are sons Steven (Sheila) Persinger of Marion, William A. (Jan) Persinger of Wooster, and daughter Lori (Terry “Chuck”) Emery of Columbus. As well as grandchildren Shanon (Troy) Hounshell, Chad Persinger, Justin Persinger, Cory (Melissa) Persinger and Shelby Persinger, step Granddaughter Tiffany Emery and great Granddaughter Corissa Persinger. She is also survived by sister in law Betty Wittibslager and brother in law Ronald James, as well as  several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by brother Gene Wittibslager, a sister, Shirley James and a son, Brian Scott Persinger who was stillborn.

She graduated from LaRue High School in 1954 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She retired from Marion Post Office as a Rural Mail Carrier.

Donna was a member of the LaRue United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities including church secretary and Sunday school teacher. She also served on many committees over the years including the Martha Horne Circle, and W.S.C.S. She enjoyed singing in the church choir as a child and the Chancel choir as an adult.

Additional hobbies included going to auctions, buying antiques and collecting “Nippon”. Her greatest joy involved spending time with her family and going to their many activities, including sports and music events.

The family wishes to thank all the supportive Doctors, Nurses, and Therapists who provided support  over many years, most notably Dr. Chander Arora who knew and cared for her best.

Funeral Services will be held Friday November 23, 2012 at 12 Noon at the LaRue United Methodist Church.  Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM to Noon.  The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue is helping the family with arrangements.

Those who wish may make contributions to the LaRue United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or the Improvement Fund or the Charity of the Donor’s choice.
